Do you know enough about Tranquilizers

When used in the correct and prescribed manner, tranquilizers can provide relief for many users. People who suffer from a lack of sleep, feelings of anxiety or nerves may find a positive impact on their life. However, using an excessive dosage may cause slurring of a persons speech, poor balance, impaired judgment and questionable reflexes. Knowing not to exceed the recommended dosage is important for any medication use but this is particularly relevant for use with tranquilizers.

An area that causes a lot of problems is when tranquilizers are mixed with alcohol, either deliberately or by accident. It has long been known that alcohol is a depressant that has negative impact on the pace the brain reacts. When alcohol and tranquilizers are mixed they combine to create a potentially fatal chemical mixture. History is littered with stories of tragic deaths and terrible accidents that were due to the combination of these substances.

There are many types of tranquilizers that are available to people and the different varieties include:

* Temazepam
* Zaleplon
* Ketamine

Given that Ketamine is traditionally a range of tranquilizers more commonly associated with treating horses than humans, the extent of sedative use has become a growing concern in recent years. Whether the sedative is being used for medicinal or recreational activities, improper use can lead to a potentially fatal outcome.

It is true that all tranquilizers can be abused but there are certain types which seem to have been used regularly in association with other recreational drugs and led to overdoses or other issues. People suffering from a lack of sleep or finding their stress levels very high may turn to this form of medication in an attempt to calm down. By taking too many in an attempt to stabilize themselves, a person may find they take too many and find themselves in trouble.

It is also a commonly known situation that many heroin users have been known to add tranquilizers to their other forms of drug taking as either a supplement or substitute. It is reported that overdoses from taking this form of medication is responsible for around a third of all drug-related deaths. Whether it is a suicide or accidental poisoning, there is little doubt that tranquilizers can play a part in many unfortunate incidents if they are abused.

Another issue comes when the user of tranquilizers feels drowsy and this creates a situation where accidental deaths occur. Of course, another area of concern can arise when this form of medication is used in conjunction with alcohol. There are a massive number of people who regularly find themselves in emergency rooms across the country due to improperly using these drugs.

There is no doubt that when used properly, this form of medication can be a positive impact on the lives of many people. However, when it used incorrectly, there are potentially fatal effects that need to be considered by both the users and the medical staff who prescribe them.  It may be time to look towards new and improved herbal alternatives which work just as well, only with little or no side effects at all.
